Summer CampJune 9-13th
K-6th: Arts & Crafts 12:00pm - 4:00pm Palo Alto High School Peery Center-Dance Studio/Classroom |
Join us June 9-13th for a week filled with creativity, fun and games. (Do you need morning care? Check out the Paly Dance & Cheer Camp which is happening in the same location so we can provide a full day of care. We even share some of the same student camp counselors!)
Campers in K-6th will have the opportunity to work with a number of different artistic mediums, from paint to clay to chalk. We also do a number of STEM activities related to art. In addition to arts and crafts, campers will play games and have the opportunity to move around.
We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for your children and are limiting our camp size so that we can still have great counselor to child ratios.
Afternoon snacks are provided. We ask all campers who are doing the morning cheer/dance session to pack a lunch and bring a water bottle. Campers should also wear clothes that can get messy and athletic shoes for outdoor games.
Camp is run by the Paly Childhood Development Pathway teacher and students of Paly's Child Development Pathway, as well as a professional artist.
Hilary McDaniel is a Palo Alto High School teacher with 20 years of experience. Lisa Martinez is a professional artist and an art teacher in the Mountain View Whisman School District. Paly Early Childhood Development students have 8 units of college credit in the field of child development and have spent a year working in classrooms at Greendell's Preschool Family or PAUSD's Young Fives, TK or elementary class. They are knowledgable, enthusiastic and caring.
Full Week Tuition- $400
*Profits from this camp benefit the Paly Child Development Pathway. We spend these funds attending professional conferences such as NAEYC's Annual conference where we presented on the pathway in 2024 and the 2025 Common Sense Summit on America's Kids and Families. We also use funds to purchase materials throughout the year to fund our projects from student created Montessori materials, felt stories and sensory activities to picture books on social emotional themes.

Sumer 2022
My son loved getting to work with the high school counselors every day, the outdoor play and all of the creative art projects. We were very impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of the camp. Thanks Hilary for the great experience! - Jung Y.
My daughter had a blast. She was super, super sad that she wasn't able to make it on one of the days. Would definitely go back! -Sarah B.

This was one of my sons favorite camp last summer. It wasn’t just another art camp. They learnt and made so many wonderful art projects while having fun. The high school counselor’s were fantastic and kept the kids engaged throughout the day. My son can’t wait to attend the camp again this year. - Meenu M.
Summer 2019
My boys have only ever done sports camps, but loved this art camp. I was really surprised. They got to learn lots of new things, still moved around and got energy out, and loved the counselors. There was a trained high school counselor for every two campers. They also loved the lunches provided. We will return if offered in future years. - Suzanne W.
